Laser Prostatectomy for Men

Bladder Neck Suspension for Women

With a relatively new procedure called the “laser prostatectomy”, Dr. Karamooz uses a laser beam to vaporize prostate tissue, allowing an increased flow of urine.  This means fewer midnight trips to the bathroom.  As in any surgery he recommends, Dr. Karamooz will perform all the necessary testing before you go into the hospital so that he can understand the nature of the problem.  Endoscopic laser prostate surgery is minimally invasive, bloodless surgical technique, which generally means less scarring, pain and swelling and a more rapid recovery than experienced with traditional open surgical procedures.

This surgery is performed by endoscope which means the healing time is reduced dramatically.  However, if you have a severely enlarged prostate gland, you may need traditional surgery known as TURP, Dr. Karamooz can perform this as well as he is highly proficient in today’s, and yesterday’s surgical techniques.

A sophisticated solution to urinary incontinence is the bladder beck suspension.  During this endoscopic procedure, Dr. Karamooz lifts the bladder back into its original position.  Several surgical stitches holds the bladder in place.  Once the procedure in complete, your bladder will stop leaking immediately.  The ease and convenience of not having a bladder incontinence problem is something that will allow you to live your life as you please.

The bladder neck suspension is always performed as an outpatient procedure.  This means you’ll be able to go into the hospital in the morning and go home the same day.  This procedure is an endoscopic surgery, most women have less scarring, pain and swelling, and a more rapid recovery than traditional procedures..
